LB°24 — Exhibitions
Here at Luleå Konsthall, through its large windows, you can look out towards the water, the outlet of the Luleälven. A river that flows through Norrbotten and the landscape from which the seeds of the biennale grew.
The works presented here are very much connected to the river, its flows and its circulation, its material, and its history. Luleälven (the Luleå river) is affected by extractivism, which today has many hydropower plants, including the first large power plant in Porjus, inaugurated as far back as 1915. During the biennial the surface of the river will slowly become ice.
