On February 2, 18.00–19.00 CET, artist duo wiklundwiklund performed a performative reactivation of a no-longer existing town, Messaure.

wiklundwiklund consists of Stockholm-based visual artist Katarina Wiklund (b. 1963, Stockholm, Sweden) and visual artist and architect Susanna Wiklund (b. 1964, Luleå, Sweden).

The duo merges their architectural, visual and performing arts practice to investigate places through different perspectives with the aim to focus on what distinguishes each place. The work of wiklundwiklund is a collection of expressions and eras where playfulness and seriousness coexist. City planning, architecture, moving patterns, moods and local history are often present in their works.

On February 2, 18.00–19.00 CET, the Luleå Biennial 2024 presented the art happening 24H Messaure, as part of this year's On the threshold of 1:1 exhibition programme. Visitors collectively experienced a light performance with image-projections on the same place where movies were before played.

Thank you to wiklundwiklund and everyone who visited the performance!
