Thank you for this year!

The biennial’s participants recently came together for a digital meeting to share ongoing processes and develop ideas for the upcoming edition together. On that note, we would like to share this year’s final snapshot from the our history.

The image above depicts a performance piece at the Gültzau Bay presented as part of Luleåbiennalen 2006. The German artists organised a dinner on the ice and, through screens and a live link, connected to another dinner party in Berlin. The set-up was advanced for its time and demanded the assistance of a local conference- and security company. A sharp contrast to current day, where we are able to connect and work seamlessly with artists from all around the world.

We look forward to sharing more about the developing biennial edition in the near future, as well as more throwbacks to the past.
