Luleåbiennalen participates as an online panelist at the 2025 Tokyo Biennale symposium “Towards New Forms of Artistic Collaboration: An Experiment in Trans-Biennale”.
On October 18, the 2025 edition of the Tokyo Biennale presents a digital panel discussion on how contemporary biennials are shaped by developing technologies and changing norms in artistic practice. The panelists consist of organisations and individuals working with new forms of collaboration within this evolving context—Luleåbiennalen being one of them.
The invited panelists include Yoshitaka Mōri (sociologist; professor, Graduate School of Global Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts), Binna Choi (director, Hawai’i Triennial 2025 and artistic director, Korean Pavilion, Venice Biennale 2026), Maria Svonni (director, Luleåbiennalen & Verdde, Konstfrämjandet Norrbotten), Mechu Rapela (curator, Tenthaus Art Collective), Trương Quế Chi and Nguyễn Phương Linh (artists, Nhà Sàn Collective), and Masato Nakamura (general producer, Tokyo Biennale 2025).
Only on-site audiences will be able to take part of the panel discussion, but if you are curious to read more about the Tokyo Biennale, the symposium or the panelists you can find more information here.
