LB°27 — Participants
Siri Baggerman (b. 1978) is a Sámi artist based in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
In her practice, Baggerman explores the layered nature of cultural memory–how fragments of the past, both personal and collective, form the foundations of identity. Through painting and visual storytelling she reimagines the Sámi landscape as both a physical and emotional space. For Luleåbiennalen 2027 she presents new work along the ice track in Luleå, as part of the project Horisonter.
Baggerman was trained at the HKU Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht and among her previous exhibitions are It’s Getting Hot in Here at Galerie Waterbolk in Utrecht in 2023, the group exhibition Fapmu at Samisk Kunstnerforbund in Alta, Norway in 2023, and Vuoi Ihán organised by Verdde at Skansen in Stockholm, Sweden 2024.
