Tekeste Solomon Gebremariam will show us inspiring carving techniques. Through carving, we get close to the tree, which will invite us to a discussion about the forest and the forestry.

Tekeste Solomon Gebremariam has studied Architecture and Archaeology. He has worked at the National Museum of Eritrea and has a great knowledge of restoring art and museum objects. He is now based in Korpilombolo, where his wood carvings are part of the local visual culture.

The workshop is organized as a collaboration between the Korpilombolo night festival, Norrbottens slöjd och hantverkskonsulent and the Luleå Biennial. Coffee will be served at the workshop.
