The Luleå Biennial 2024: On the threshold of 1:1 presents works by Fadlabi at Galleri Syster in Luleå.
The exhibition at Galleri Syster presents paintings and installations by Luleå-based artist Fadlabi, revolving around the ongoing war in his birth country, Sudan. This conflict, involving the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, has resulted in the tragic loss of thousands of lives and triggered what the United Nations identifies as the world's largest human displacement crisis.
The exhibition inside the gallery is connected to the artist's installation on the Luleå Ice Road, which are moved to the mainland as soon as the ice begins to melt.
