LB°24 — Participants
Carolina Falkholt (b. 1977, Sweden), is an artist based in Sweden.
The idea is that my monumental wall paintings link together the three cities of Rovaniemi, Severomorsk and Luleå. The paintings, one in each city, are executed on firewalls or gables. The idea behind a firewall is to divide the main body of a building into sections so that if a fire occurs, it will not be able to spread uncontrollably. Instead, I now use these firewalls to tie together neighbouring countries by allowing art to spread – maybe not uncontrollably, but freely.
Carolina Falkholt lives and works in Gothenburg, Sweden. Since the end of the 1990s, she has worked on developing the graffiti art form as a musical, performing and social experience. In her creative work, Falkholt often invites different types of collaboration with artists, musicians, the public and organisations.
